Obfuscation maximization-based decision-making: Theory, methodology and first empirical evidence

چکیده
Theories of decision-making are routinely based on the notion that decision-makers choose alternatives which align with their underlying preferences—and hence preferences can be inferred from choices. In some situations, however, a decision-maker may wish to hide his or her an onlooker. This paper argues such obfuscation-based choice behavior is likely relevant in various as political decision-making. puts forward simple and tractable discrete model behavior, by combining well-known concepts Bayesian inference information entropy. After deriving illustrating key properties, presents results obfuscation game was designed explore whether decision-makers, when properly incentivized, would able obfuscate effectively, heuristics they employ do so. Together, analyses presented this provide stepping stones towards more profound understanding

Empirical Evidence Against Decision Augmentation Theory
Ð A reference on the Decision Augmentation Theory (May et al., 1995) includes a claim that certain data from the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research program support the DAT model while refuting bitwise influence models at the 8.6s level. We present here an analysis of the entire PEAR database published in Jahn et al. (1996), which shows that the database as a whole is consistent with bitwi...
متن کاملApproximation algorithms and decision making in the Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence - An empirical study
The computational complexity of reasoning within the Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence is one of the major points of criticism this formalism has to face. To overcome this diiculty various approximation algorithms have been suggested that aim at reducing the number of focal elements in the belief functions involved. This article reviews a number of algorithms based on this method and introduce...
متن کاملFUZZY SOFT MATRIX THEORY AND ITS APPLICATION IN DECISION MAKING
In this work, we define fuzzy soft ($fs$) matrices and theiroperations which are more functional to make theoretical studies inthe $fs$-set theory. We then define products of $fs$-matrices andstudy their properties. We finally construct a $fs$-$max$-$min$decision making method which can be successfully applied to theproblems that contain uncertainties.
متن کاملTheory and Methodology Multiperson decision-making based on multiplicative preference relations
A multiperson decision-making problem, where the information about the alternatives provided by the experts can be presented by means of dierent preference representation structures (preference orderings, utility functions and multiplicative preference relations) is studied. Assuming the multiplicative preference relation as the uniform element of the preference representation, a multiplicativ...
متن کاملDecision Making using Maximization of Negret
We analyze the problem of decision making under ignorance with regrets. Recently, Yager has developed a new method for decision making where instead of using regrets he uses another type of transformation called negrets. Basically, the negret is considered as the dual of the regret. We study this problem in detail and we suggest the use of geometric aggregation operators in this method. For doi...
